Tukad Cepung waterfall’s is one of the best hidden water falls in Bali. Tukad means river in Balinese language and Cepung means flow, so ‘Tukad Cepung Waterfall’ means River Flow 😊. Balinese people often call it as ‘Cepung’.
Waterfall is in south of Bali. The waterfall is known as a secret waterfall, however its very famous. It is a magnificent waterfall inside a cave system that looks unusual when a spectacular beam of sun rays hit the top of the waterfall while lighting up the cave. This waterfall is located inside a cave. It has a natural formation and an unusual sight. It is the most photogenic of all waterfalls in Bali.
The path to reach the actual waterfall is not easy. There are lots of steps which are uneven, and it gets very tiring. You can take breaks in between while climbing up. While going down one must be very careful and have good shoes, otherwise you can slip and fall. When you get down there, the feeling is amazing!!
After the stairs you reach a tiny river which flows through what feels like a mini canyon that leads to a cave. You will have to wade through the river, but it is not difficult. It was only ankle deep when we visited but was slippery. Then you’ll head into a cave section where you come to the first stunning opening. The sunlight and waterfall make it such an awesome view! There are some cafes along the stairs where you can take breaks 😉. We had some delicious fried bananas and tender coconut. There are little shops and the people are very friendly. There are lot of opportunities to take a lot of good pictures. The waterfall inside will amaze you with its scenic beauty and you will not be able to resist yourself from enjoying the cool water.
There is an entrance fee for everyone to get in, which can be purchased at the entrance. Also, the best time to visit is between 7 AM to 11 AM in the morning for the sun rays on the waterfalls. You can get to the waterfalls from Bali airport its about 80 mins or its 50 min drive from Ubad nearest town. You can hire a motorbike or go by car. Kids and adults will love it, you can carry a light rain jacket and make sure you carry a few water bottles just in case you get tired. Best time to go is between April and October when its dry and doesn’t rain all the time. Put this on your must do list if visiting Bali 😊. Don’t forget your camera😉
